Feeding frenzy of tea leaf trevally, spangled emperors, giant trevally and sea gulls. Many of the sea gulls have lost a foot, victims to fish bite! (at Green Island)

What will the children say!?
When we tell them the forests went away.

That’s about it.

"Optimism".
Up around #Toolangi in the #GreatDividingRange just north of #Healesville the big trees have been falling. We are optimistic and all hope for a cease to this logging because it’s making a financial loss, the trees are being pulped mostly for #ReflexPaper, this is where #Melbourne gets 90+% of its water, endangered animals call these forests exclusively their home, these forests are more carbon dense than any on the planet, more jobs will be created by saving these forests and providing reforestation and tourism opportunities. #stopthelogging #AxeVicForests

Thank you @scienceworks. We made #sherbet. Added an extra 1 tsp tartaric acid and around 10 extra tsp icing sugar e.g. double and “hey, presto!” It is a triumph of childly, cooking, kitcheny, scientific, tingly tongue delights. #science #recipe #sweet #treat #melbourne #stkilda (at The Ace Kitchen Of Slugs)

Seeds are out for first spring planting (despite being last day of winter). Gorgeous, sunny 22°C. Climate change, here we come! Shall do successive plantings every two weeks or so throughout spring so we get a progressive crop of lovely fruits and veggies over summer. To start: beetroot, snow peas, butternut pumpkin, regular peas, queensland blue pumpkin, zucchini, butter beans. That’s a good start. Doesn’t even begin to include onions, spring onions, carrots, 8 varieties of tomato, eggplant, corn, cucumber, green beans etc. Let the fun begin. (at Alma’s Loft)
